True to Postella's neoclassical shaping, this Volcano's bowl-forward visual weight is immediately apparent. This piece is sure to be an eye-catcher in any collection, with an uninterrupted stretch of plateau on its underside. From the craggy, pointed heel, the walls of the bowl rise upward and taper toward a broad rim, forming the classic shape of a volcano. Out back, a semi-rectangular shank lifts subtly and pairs to a concise saddle stem of black acrylic, the firm lines adding a nice contrast to the soft contours of the bowl. Dressing the stummel is a hazelnut stain that highlights lovely vertical grain along the bowl and swirls of birdseye on the rim.
