Italian Estates: Castello Collection Great Line Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-42748

From the mind of Italian artisan Carlo Scotti, Castello was founded in 1947 to offer handmade pipes that exude quality in both form and function. Working together with Luigi Radice and Peppino Ascorti, the three would serve as key innovators in defining Italian neoclassical pipe design. Part of Castello's Great Line series, this bent Dublin from the Italian marque is rendered with robust proportions, though its size is on the more reserved end of the line's offerings. Even so, this piece boasts a tall, hearty bowl up front, formed by thick, insulating walls flaring from the rounded heel toward the softly undulating rim. Furthermore, this design features a strong sense of momentum throughout courtesy of a sharply upturned shank and gracefully arcing stem out back, the pair carrying a gradual taper throughout that naturally guides the eye toward the front of the composition. Castello's Collection finish dresses the stummel in a warm auburn stain, highlighting wisps of flame grain around the bowl and handsome birdseye circling the rim, with the base of the stem featuring a matching accent for a stylish touch.
