Italian Estates: Ardor Urano Billiard (DR) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-42750

The Ardor marque was established in 1974, its name being a portmanteau of its founders, Angelo Rovera and his son Dorelio Rovera. The family's tradition of pipe making extends further, to 1911, when Angelo's father Francesco founded the Sociedade Rovera pipe company alongside his brothers. Per the Italian workshop's style, this Billiard from Ardor is a strapping rendition of the classic shape. It features a tall, upright bowl standing at the fore, with thick walls reaching from the broad heel and showing a slight taper near the rim, housing a capacious chamber within. An arrow-straight shank emerges from the bowl out back and joins to a gingerly downturned tapered stem with a flaring bit. Dressing the stummel is a craggy, auburn-stained rustication, save for the rim and shank end, which are left smooth for contrast.
