A gestural rendition, this Savinelli Autograph modifies the usual proportioning and curvature of the Egg shape, with a flat rim that emphasizes the restrained recurve of the bowl prior to reaching this rim: rising with soft contours from a sweeping heel. It maintains the forward cant of traditional interpretations and softens it with a generously smooth transition, and then contrasts it with the structural attitude of its diamond shank, whose geometry continues into the tapered stem with crisp ridgelines along the entire combination. The soft downturn of the stem counterbalances the forward urge of the bowl and provides physical balance for easy hands-free smoking, and the honey-blonde stain achieves its primary purpose of accentuating this composition's fine, vertical grain.
