Italian Estates: Aldo Velani Partially Rusticated Bent Billiard (P705) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-42820
Aldo Velani pipes are made in Livorno, Italy, by Cesare Barontini, the Italian carver creating pipes with muscular proportions that exude classic Italian charm. This bent Billiard is a good example of that style, with plenty of plumpness and hearty charm about its bowl. The transition is low-set and fairly tight, though it leaves plenty of room to drape a digit before giving way to a smartly upturned shank that reaches out to meet a sleek saddle stem of black acrylic. Dressed in a warm stain contrasted nicely by a partial rustication at the heel, additional contrast is offered by the silvery metal junction band.
