Italian Estates: Tom Spanu Smooth Bent Dublin (FRB) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-43378

Beginning his career in the pipe industry in 1963, Tommaso Spanu traveled to northern Italy where he worked as an apprentice for his uncle. Working alongside other pipe manufacturers in Gavirate, Spanu was eventually discovered by Alberto Paronelli, the grand seigneur of the Italian pipe business. With the help of Paronelli and other craftsmen, Spanu eventually gained enough skill to go on to work at Clairmont where he would later craft the bulk of pipes for the business.

This bent Dublin from Tom Spanu is a timeless and sleek design that provides the smoker with both a satisfying feel in the hand and between the teeth. Sweeping from the mouthpiece to the heel, the underside of the Dublin is streamlined, with its momentum carrying to the fore. The walls of the bowl rise to form the classic Bell shape, giving ample room to wrap your fingers around. From a tight transition, the shank begins the continual bend of the aft as it lifts toward the black stem made of vulcanite, its hues complementing the smooth rich stain across the stummel.
