Italian Estates: Castello Sea Rock Briar Great Line Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

A number of Castello's other Great Line bent Dublins feature shanks that are more angled and stems that are more bent than this rendition. Such a design choice lends the bowl of this piece much more visual prominence, accentuating its rising, flaring height in profile, with the heel firm and slightly protruding below. The subtle, gradual curvature of the shank and stem add just enough balance to the form and also informs the bowl's forward cant. The rim is topped with plateau, blending seamlessly with the rugged texture of the dark-stained Sea Rock rustication, and even though this piece didn't receive Castello's G size designation, it houses a hearty chamber for wonderfully relaxing, lengthy smoking sessions.
