Founded by Ser Jacopo veterans Maurizio Fraternale and Simone Gaudenzi, Kristiansen offers pipes that combine Danish designs cues with evocative Italian sensibilities. This bent Bulldog from Kristiansen boasts an outline that's equal parts fluid and muscular, with a consistent curvature balancing a robust bowl and thick, sturdy shank. Said bowl stands atop a firm heel and grows thick walls that flare to a wide, beadline-wrapped waist before tapering inward to a flat rim. A wide transition pairs the aforementioned bowl to a sweeping diamond shank and a smartly bent mouthpiece, the latter of which promotes a comfortable smoking posture. Dressing this piece is a warm smooth finish that highlights a healthy showing of flame grain and birdseye throughout the stummel.
