Italian Estates: L'Anatra Rusticated Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Since its establishment in 1998, L'Anatra has become a mainstay of Italian pipe making and an influential part of the Pesaro tradition. There is perhaps no better encapsulation of L'Anatra's unique character than their telltale signature: a tiny silver duck head, found on every pipe stem. This bent Dublin is an impressively lightweight take on the timeless form from the Italian brand, offering a reserved length and a delightfully balanced build. The transition is wide, and it gives way to a fairly short shank that curves down to meet a sleekly tapering stem of black acrylic, the entire combination lined by a quartet of panels in a diamond configuration. Up front, the bowl stands on a rounded heel and cants forward dynamically, growing its walls with a measured flare toward a subtly domed rim. Dressed in a warm, mahogany stain and craggy rustication, there's plenty of rich texture to appreciate throughout the stummel.
