An experienced craftsman, Luigi Viprati has been fashioning pipes by hand since 1972, and over the years, he's developed a unique style that's whimsical and reflective of the Italian neoclassical tradition. This bent Apple Churchwarden by Viprati is a lengthy composition with a curvaceous silhouette. Up front, a stocky, full-bodied bowl stands atop a wide heel and grows trim walls that take on an arcing taper to a taut rim. Said bowl is paired to an upturned shank and a long, arcing mouthpiece, the latter of which promotes a comfortable smoking posture. Dressing this piece is a warm smooth finish that highlights healthy grain throughout the stummel.
