Italian Estates: Ardor Urano Canadian (DR) (2010) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-43359
With a storied history dating back to 1911, the Ardor marque is a long-standing family business that is still owned and operated by the descendants of the original founder. After his father founded Sociedade Rovera in Varese, Italy, young Angelo Rovera knew he wanted to carry on the family's legacy within the pipe industry. With the help of his son, Angelo established Ardor in 1974, and worked to maintain the high level of craftsmanship and quality products he'd been brought up with. After Angelo's passing over 20 years later in 1999, his grandsons, Damiano and Dimitri, took over the business and still run it today.
This Canadian from Ardor is a massive rendering of the classic shape, following the true Italian style. With a flat underside, this pipe is also a Sitter and is an ideal option for the multitasking smoker. From the leveled heel, the cylindrical walls of the bowl rise high to meet a flat rim that looks into a deep tobacco chamber. From the ninety-degree transition, the oval shank extends and takes up the majority of the aft before meeting a small, tapered stem made of acrylic. The black hues on the mouthpiece and the dark rusticated stummel give this pipe a rugged aesthetic, save for the rim which is dressed in a smooth, light finish to showcase the pipe's natural grain.
