Italian Estates: Radice Clear Rhodesian (O) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-43334
Almost twenty years before Radice was established, its founder, Luigi Radice, began his journey with briar pipes at the now-iconic Castello workshop. In 1968, Luigi and Giuseppe Ascorti teamed up to create the Caminetto brand, but Luigo eventually left and founded Radice in 1980. With the help of his father and sons, Gianluca and Marzio, Luigi created a family business known for their unique spin on neoclassical pipes, as well as their singular accenting and finishing techniques.
This Rhodesian from Radice is bowl-centric, with its robust fore drawing the smoker's attention from the slimmer shank-and-stem combination. From a muscular heel, the bowl flares to a pair of crisp beadlines denoting the high-set waist and additionally marking the form's iconic taper to the rim. Out back, the shank begins the aft's continuous bend to the bit. Near the junction, two white accent bands dress the shank before it meets the coal-black acrylic mouthpiece. The black and white hues along the aft pair well with the lighter stain seen along the stummel.
