Italian Estates: Castello 'Castello' Pot (KK) (2019) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-43296

Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's approach to shaping helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. A stout pipe situated directly within Nosewarmer territory, this straight Pot measures less than four and a half inches long and boasts a robust bowl with ample surface area for the fingers to wrap around. A wide transition leaves plenty of room to drape a thumb and starts the gradual taper of the shank, paired here to a trim stem of more swiftly tapering black acrylic. The bowl sits atop a rounded, pronounced heel, though not so much at the Italian workshop's iconic "55" shape, and the walls that grow out of it take on their own gentle taper to the flat rim. The wealth of material possessed by this pipe offers a fantastic canvas for the workshop's eponymous finish to dress, revealing streaks of flame across both flanks of the bowl.
