Italian Estates: Aldo Velani Colori Smooth Dublin (51) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Made by Cesare Barontini in Livorno, Italy, Aldo Velani pipes are distinguished by their distinctively Italian character, complete with muscular proportions and stylish shaping. Although of Italian origins, this Dublin from Aldo Velani more closely resembles an Anglo-French interpretation of the shape, albeit with an extra touch of substance afforded to the pipe's head. At the fore, a stout bowl flares out from a soft heel toward a broad rim. Following the bowl, a sturdy, round shank pairs to a translucent stem that tapers gradually to the button. The stem's base is outlined by two metallic accent bands that complement the inky stain of the stummel.
