Since their founding in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello has handcrafted high-quality pipes and helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes has helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. Part of Castello's Great Line series, this bent Dublin boasts an impressive build, offering almost six inches of length and a bowl over two inches tall. As one might expect from a pipe with those dimensions, the bowl here houses a capacious tobacco chamber within its thick, subtly flared frame, ensuring plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions and providing a wealth of insulation. A wide transition follows the bowl and marks the start of a trim shank that tapers into a slender mouthpiece. The gradual reduction of the shank-and-stem arrangement thrusts the visual weight to the pipe's fore, fostering a neoclassical appearance in profile. Dressed in a warm smooth finish, the stummel here offers a wealth of attractive grain, with tight tendrils of flame rising along the bowl's flanks.
