Italian Estates: Castello Collection Great Line Bent Dublin (KKKK) (2003) Tobacco Pipe

With a layered history dating back to 1947, Castello is known as one of the first Italian brands to separate from the conventional English and French shape charts to help create the Italian neoclassical style seen today. Translating to "castle" in English, founder Carlo Scotti chose the name Castello to be recognized in several European languages. The marque eventually combined with Radice and Ascorti and was one of the first brands to provide high-quality handmade pipes to the general public. Leading shaping in Italy, Castello is now considered one of the most iconic pipe manufacturers in the world.

Part of the Great Line of pipes, this bent Dublin from Castello takes on a brawny profile, with hefty, yet balanced, proportions. The bowl is entirely palm-filling, as its towering walls rise from a full-bodied heel to an asymmetrical rim covered in plateau. Nestled within the bowl is a capacious tobacco chamber, just over two inches deep, providing plenty of long and leisurely smoking sessions. The transition lends ample room to wrap the thumb as it gives way to an oval shank that takes up the majority of the aft before connecting to an abbreviated stem. This pipe is dressed in the light, honeyed hues of the Collection finish, juxtaposing the inky coloration of the mouthpiece.
