A bent Billiard with Acorn aspirations, this Claudio Cavicchi piece demonstrates the Italian artisan's gifted ability to maximize the grain on each briar block he touches. Cavicchi places the beauty of the briar at the forefront of his design as it's certainly evident on this offering. His pipes are counted among the most flawlessly grained pieces on the market, with shapes and finishes that naturally accentuate the wood. Shape-wise, this example is a fairly straightforward take on the classic shape, with an Acorn-esque heel spur placed underneath the transition and a touch of waviness lent to the rim. There's no shortage of gorgeous grain on this "CCC" piece either, all highlighted in one of Claudio's stunning, honey-blonde contrast stains. A boxwood accent graces the shank end, its pale yellow hue brilliantly complementing the stummel's light stain.
