Italian Estates: Castello Old Antiquari Lovat (75) (KKKK) (1970s-1982) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-44125

Founded by Carlo Scotti in 1947, Castello is recognized by some enthusiasts for being one of the first Italian brands to separate from the conventional English and French shaping standards. All of their pipes are individually shaped by a small team of artisans who focus on quality in both form and function. The prioritization of quality not only shifted Castello to international recognition but changed the reputation of Italian pipes altogether. Crafted between 1970 and 1982, this vintage Lovat from Castello features all the shape's characteristic features with a tall cylindrical bowl, elongated round shank, and a concise saddle stem. In the workshop's typical neoclassic style, the bowl holds most of this piece's visual prominence, standing next to a slender shank-and-stem combination. The stummel wears the warm Old Anitquari sandblast, providing a wealth of tactile detail and pairing well next to the crimson acrylic stem out back.
