Italian Estates: Ascorti Russ Smooth Horn (AT) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-44210
In 1969, two Castello craftsmen, Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, left the workshop to establish their own business that would become known as Caminetto. The brand flourished into the 1970s, eventually becoming one of the most popular marques in Italy at the time. This workshop is where Roberto Ascorti, son of Guiseppe, got his first taste of the pipe-making world. When his father's workshop was full, he ventured off on his own to create the Ascorti brand before Guiseppe eventually joined him after Caminetto closed.
Sweeping from button to bowl, this Horn from Ascorti is a rarer shape from the marque. A subtly S-curved aft is paired to a broad flaring bowl, giving the entire profile a sleek and elegant look. The walls of said bowl rise from a lifted heel as they expand toward a ridgeline under the domed rim. The ruby stained stummel is finished smooth to highlight impressive grain and pair well to the jet-black acrylic stem out back.
