Italian Estates: Don Carlos Smooth Apple (Two Note) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-44408
Before crafting pipes under the Don Carlos name, Bruto Sordini worked alongside Giancarlo Guidi to form the Ser Jacopo workshop in 1982. Ten years later, Sordini left the marque to start Don Carlos alongside his wife, Rosaria. This Apple from Don Carlos is a sturdy interpretation of the traditional silhouette, with a palm-filling bowl paired to a hefty shank and tapered stem. Up front, the walls of the bowl rise and expand from a full-bodied heel before gradually tapering back inward to the deeply chamfered rim. Subtle cheeking around the transition gives way to a rounded shank that stretches toward the ebony acrylic mouthpiece, its inky coloration juxtaposing the honey-hues of the smooth stummel.
