Italian Estates: Becker Smooth Dublin (M) (Two Hearts) (Replacement Tenon) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-44586
The Becker brand was founded in 1974 by Fritz Becker, a skilled painter, sculptor, and pipe maker, alongside his son, Paolo. Fritz passed on his craft to Paolo, and together they worked until Fritz's death in 1991. Paolo then mentored his son, Federico, who continues the family tradition today. As a third-generation artisan, Federico maintains the iconic Becker style while incorporating modern techniques and innovations, crafting distinctive pieces from high-quality briar. This Dublin is a handsome rendition, rendered in neoclassic proportions with a towering bowl at the fore of an arrow-straight shank-and-stem combination. The bowl sits with a slight forward cant, formed by walls that flare from a soft heel to a broad, slightly inflated rim. The shank is low-set, emphasizing the height of the bowl and paring to a concise saddle stem of black acrylic. Dressing the stummel is a light chestnut stain that highlights tendrils of flame grain rising up the bowl's flanks. A trim black acrylic accent sits along the junction, adding a touch of flare to the traditional palette of this piece.
- Madison LongNote: This pipe's tenon is a replacement, and the price has been adjusted accordingly.
