Italian Estates: Baldo Baldi Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-44379
With a background architecture, the late Baldo Baldi approached his craft with an exacting eye, with each of his pipes being made for briar that had been aged 20-25 years. Baldi would often incorporate inspiration from some of his favorite artists and architects, drawing on his passions to create pipes that balance form and function. This bent Dublin by Baldi possesses a robust, flaring bowl whose walls ascend to a broad, sloped rim. The bowl sits with an expressive, Zulu-like cant, with the underside marked by two crisp ridgelines for a geometric appeal. Juxtaposing the bowl's rounded figure, a crisp square shank emerges out back and joins to a sleek stem, the pair's continuous taper further accentuating the bowl's prominence in profile. Dressing the stummel is a chestnut stain that highlights fine tendrils of flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
