In 1969, Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice left the famous Castello workshop to form their own company, Caminetto. Their passion and skill quickly propelled Caminetto to become one of Italy's most renowned pipe brands by the late 1970s. Roberto Ascorti, Guiseppe's son, grew up in the world of pipes and was eager to carry on the tradition. He later founded the Ascorti workshop, with his father joining him after Caminetto closed. This Rhodesian from Ascorti is an archetypal rendition of the classic shape that sees a beadline-wrapped bowl at the fore of a sinuous shank and stem combination. Dressing the stummel is a traditional, chestnut stain that highlights tendrils of flame grain rising up the bowl's flanks.
