Italian Estates: Musico Sandblasted Bent Billiard Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-44618
The Musico name was first associated with a joint venture between Giorgio Musico and Paolo and Fritz Becker, crafting pipes collaboratively under the name Becker & Musico. After the two merged in 1989, Giorgio's son, Massimo, soon joined the project. This partnership would last until 2002 when the two families amicably parted ways to carve pipes under their own respective names. Massimo established his own workshop and is still crafting high-quality, handmade pipes to this day.
Musico often adheres to classic French and English designs as opposed to the neoclassic aesthetic championed by other Italian craftsmen. Along with a traditional shaping style, Musico is also known for using hand-cut vulcanite stems, as well as incorporating eccentric accents into his pipes like silver, bamboo, boxwood, antler, or bone.
Musico grades his pipes differently based on their finish: Sandblasts are graded in ascending order from Floodlight, to Floodlight Special, to Floodlight Double Special; smooth pipes ascend from Set, to Club, to Floodlight. From their hand-cut stems and bespoke accents to their timeless shaping and often practical sizes, Musico pipes are beloved worldwide for their tasteful artistry and quality craftsmanship.
