Italian Estates: Castello Collection Billiard with Silver (KKKK) (1991) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-44818
With a layered history dating back to 1947, Castello is known as one of the first Italian brands to separate from the conventional English and French shape charts to help create the Italian neoclassical style seen today. Translating to "castle" in English, founder Carlo Scotti chose the name Castello to be recognized in several European languages. The marque eventually combined with Radice and Ascorti and was one of the first brands to provide high-quality handmade pipes to the general public. Leading shaping in Italy, Castello is now considered one of the most iconic pipe manufacturers in the world.
A fairly traditional take on the shape-chart standard, this Billiard from Castello pairs a tall, cylindrical bowl to an arrow-straight stank-and-stem arrangement out back. The bowl is Stack-like in profile, measuring over two inches tall and housing a deep tobacco chamber. The aforementioned shank and stem are connected by a silver mount in the middle, adding a pop of shine to the design. The chestnut-stained stummel is finished smooth to highlight stunning tendrils of flame grain around the bowl's flanks.
