In his youth, Roberto Ascorti became well-acquainted with the craft of pipe making thanks to his father Giuseppe Ascorti. He initially helped his father while attending the Art Institute, eventually wanting to work full–time in pipe making at the age of 22. However, since his father's factory had no room, Roberto founded the Ascorti marque with the support of his family. Featuring a strapping physique, this Billiard from Ascorti is a classically Italian rendition of the shape. Its towering bowl is formed by thick walls rising from a firm heel and subtly tapering toward a smooth, rounded rim. Transitioning from the bowl is a low-set shank that pairs to a tapering stem of jet-black acrylic. Ascorti's iconic Business rustication dresses the stummel, granting this piece a rugged complexion complete with a warm, earthy stain.
