Vitaliano Posella was naturally attracted to the art of pipe making after working in the Italian briar industry. His pipes are crafted exclusively from briar sourced from Calabria, the southwestern region that comprises the Italian peninsula's "toe." This bent Egg from Posella offers a neoclassic take on the shape with a remarkably brief vulcanite stem and a rusticated finish with a dynamic depth and wave-like pattern that almost seems to mimic the waters of the Calabrian coastline. The touch of the bowl is rugged but serene, and the rustication is a touch shallower on the round shank.
