Japanese Estates: Tsutomu Smooth Squat Tomato (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-007-0202

Outside of Tsuge company, Fukashiro Tsutomu is the most popular and prolific pipe maker in Japan. His shapes are relatively conservative and decidedly Danish inspired, leaning toward the Danish Reformed mileau. Indeed, outside of the asymmetrical panel on the left of the shank this handsome squat tomato looks could have been carved by Tom Eltang. The grain displayed on the surfaces of the bowl is quite good, with loose but well defined birdseye being displayed on the heel, and fine flame grain displayed on the sides of the bowl and shank. Unsmoked and with original bag.
