Japanese Estates: Tsuge Ikebana Smooth Horn (136) (2021) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-007-1359
Tsuge Ikebana consists of three talented artisans that share a workshop but craft their pipes under their individual names. In English, "Ikebana" translates to "living flower," which is the highest form of Japanese flower arrangement and is meant to encourage appreciation of the natural world. This gorgeous Horn is obviously the work of the Ikebana workshop, as it possesses a supple curvature and dynamic posture that's simply unmistakable. As one might expect from the classic shape, the bowl here possesses a forward cant and a lively taper that begins at the flared rim and continues through the shank. The steady taper produces an ever-diminishing silhouette that draws the eye to the bowl and its dramatic forward-drive. The shape's supple contours conform naturally to the hand, and there is more than enough chamber tucked within the bowl to ensure plenty of leisurely smoking sessions. It's dressed in a gorgeous smooth finish that showcases tight strands of cross grain across the length of the stummel. Unsmoked.--Davin Hylton
