Misc. Estates: Grechukhin Partially Sandblasted Bent Apple (2015) (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-008-4118
In this Grechukhin we find two very Vladimir forms, flowing together effortlessly yet distinguished by contrasting finishes: a full, smoothly rounded bowl, possessing a firmness accentuated both visually, and in hand by concentrating curvature at the cheeks, and one of the artisan's signature, vertical-oval shanks — broad at the flanks, yet trim in cross-section, making for both a readily recognizable shape-feature and better ergonomics in hand. Aside from making for a great way to highlight Grechukhin form, this mixed finish as you can see has also been used to make the most of the grain: flame for the considerable flanks of the polished shank, rolling rings for the shapely curves of the bowl.- Andrew Wike
