Misc. Estates: Alexander Tupitsyn Smooth Bent Dublin (2017)
Product Number: 004-008-5438
An overtly curling bent Dublin rendition, this fellow is splendidly in keeping with the more energetic renditions of the form we've seen from the Russian carver these past few years. This energy is a result of the carver's penchant for tight curve, forgoing the more common, sprawling iterations we've seen from other makers. The Danish influence is undeniable here too, as the talented carver made use of a pair of ridgelines diagonally-oriented on the left and right, serving the same form-defining purpose as the characteristic Ivarssonian teardrop ridge. There's some rim darkening here, but otherwise condition is good.- Daniel Bumgardner
