Misc. Estates: Michail Kyriazanos Smooth Canadian (2014)

Product Number: 004-008-5586

This is a fine example of the kind of pipe that has recently drawn a lot of attention toward Greek artisan pipemakers - few of them as there may be. While Michail, Chris Asteriou, and Konstantinos Anastasopoulos may all work in more modern styles as well, it's the phenomenal English classics that initially wowed so many of us, shapes as elegant as any that came out of England, hand-made, and beautifully grained as a rule. It's easy to see why Kyriazanos has gained such a sterling reputation. This piece is a smaller Canadian with flame grain surrounding the bowl and running up the sides of the shank, which is terminated by a short, cumberland taper stem to match the hues of the stummel. With just some minor rim darkening, it's in fine shape.
