Misc. Estates: Jirsa Rusticated Freehand

Product Number: 004-008-5795

Born in 1962 in the Czech Republic, Oldrich Jirsa crafts pipes with a particularly Italian aesthetic, more bowl-centric than English shape chart standards, and also more curvaceous, and influence of Danish design cues. This rusticated Freehand displays a bowl of prominent visual weight, supported by an oval shank with two interesting "wings" along the side where the oval reduces before meeting the stem. The rim is smooth, the rustication crisp, and the section of mouthpiece just before the step-down to the saddle portion of the bit expands slightly at the bottom, giving the piece an echoing expansion in silhouette that matches that of the horizontal shank.
