Misc. Estates: Sergey Ailarov Smooth Bent Brandy with Horn
Product Number: 004-008-5662
Russian carver Sergey Ailarov utilizes his fascination with the art of pipe smoking to create pieces that put equal emphasis on functionality and aesthetic beauty. That's certainly exemplified here with this compact, Danish inspired bent Brandy. Its smooth flowing profile displays a good bit of forward urging momentum as well as some subtle cheeking around the transition. The plump little bowl features a gorgeous mix of flame and straight grain, tastefully brought out by a light chestnut stain. Out back, the abbreviated shank is accented by a creamy ferrule of genuine horn and a well-executed saddle stem that keeps everything balanced. This piece has been lightly smoked and is in excellent condition.- Jeffery Sitts
