Misc. Estates: Andreas Bennwik Smooth Bent Dublin (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-008-5777
Swedish carver Andreas Bennwik is an incredibly talented artisan with prior experience in illustration and sculpting, which has clearly informed his pipemaking style when it comes to line, form, and composition. Those characteristics are readily apparent in this Horn-like bent Dublin with its elegant form and organic flow. While we've seen quite a few Dublins and Horns from Andreas, this offering really highlights his ability to render shapes with supple curves and smooth flowing lines. He's also quite adept at shaping when it comes to maximizing the grain orientation of each smooth pipe. Lively licks of flame grain engulf the forward urging bowl while pin pricks of birdseye populate the broad, softly inflated rim. It's a rare sight to see one of Bennwik's pipes come through our doors as an estate and it's even rarer to find one in unsmoked condition.- Jeffery Sitts
