Misc. Estates: Phillip Trypis Partially Rusticated Bent Apple (5) (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-008-5748
Phillip Trypis is a Canadian pipemaker whose experience ranges from cutting blocks at a briar mill to serving as director of production at Brigham pipes. He's known for producing quality hand-shaped pieces at prices on par with many a mass-produced, machine-shaped briar. Here, Trypis has crafted a well-rounded Apple with a Pot-like breadth to its chamber and paired it to an oval shank and a unique, ever-so-gently bent saddle stem. Patches of rustication along the bowl's fore and topside of the shank add some subtle textural variety to the mix. Unsmoked.- Jeffery Sitts
