Misc. Estates: Vollmer & Nilsson Smooth Dublin with Silver

Product Number: 004-008-5759

One of the few true artisan pipe making duos — joining the likes of Per and Ulf of S. Bang and Sara and Love of Geiger — Martin Vollmer and Anders Nilsson are Swedish half-brothers who collaborate together on each handmade piece they produce. Here, the duo presents a Dublin that combines both English and Danish shaping cues. The latter is evident particularly at the heel, which slopes upward in and gentle arc to inform the bowl's fore. Most Danish pipes, though, would couple this with a softly inflated from, but here Martin and Anders display a crisp, hard-lined rim often seen in English and French pipes. Furthering the classic motif, this piece is dressed in a traditionally conservative, walnut stain, allowing the broad accent of sterling silver to shine in all its regal panache.
