Nikolay Kozyrev most often produces Billiard and Brandy variants that, while diverse across renditions, still maintain a similar, consistent style. Such a convention makes this Acorn piece a stark outlier within the Russian carver's portfolio and a rarer piece for aficionados of his work. Dramatically pinched at the transition, both the bowl and shank flare outward, creating a balanced composition and separated said elements. The bowl flares more prominently into the rounded, broad-splayed rim, while the lines of the shank continue into the domed stem base, emulating the rim. It's dressed in a dark, earthy sandblast with a subtle contrast and is presented here in unsmoked condition.
