Misc. Estates: Dirk Claessen Sandblasted Dublin (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-008-6687
Dirk Claessen is a Belgian pipe maker currently living in Spain. While neither country is well-known for producing a great wealth of pipe makers, Dirk's pipes are indeed quite nice. He's taken instruction from a range of Danish and Swedish artisans and draws much influence from the late German master Rainer Barbi. This Dublin is a fine example of his work, balancing a rather visually heavy bowl with soft, supple lines throughout and an elegant silhouette in profile. The ring grain unveiled by the light depth sandblast is stellar and a deep, emerald green accent ring graces the shank end, complementing the stummel's dark stain. It's presented here in unsmoked condition.- Andrew Wike
