Misc. Estates: Gurra Smooth Blowfish with Mokume (2015) (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-008-6285

Gurra pipes are fashioned in Halmstad, Sweden, by Lars-Göran Markunger, "Gurra" being a common nickname for Lars-Göran. An article about French pipe making history drew Gurra to the craft, and he reached out to fellow Swede Bo Nordh for advice and industry contacts. A talented craftsman in multiple mediums, Gurra also worked at a glass factory and often uses alternative materials in his pipe making. In the case of this Blowfish, the shank end is adorned with mokume — a Japanese metalworking technique involving the layering of a metal laminate, resulting in a distinct grain-like pattern that's responsible for the name, mokume translating to "wood grain metal."
