Dirk Claessen is a Belgian carver currently living in Spain. While neither country is well-known for producing a plethora of pipe makers, Dirk's pipes are indeed quite nice. He's taken instruction from a range of Danish and Swedish artisans and draws much influence from the late German master Rainer Barbi. This straight, sleek Billiard is a fine example of his work, balancing a tall, softly rounded and tapered bowl with soft, supple lines throughout and an elegant silhouette in profile.
