Misc. Estates: Konstantinos Anastasopoulos Smooth Dublin with Wenge (7813) (2013)

Product Number: 004-008-7118

Much like his fellow Greek carvers Chris Asteriou and Michail Kyriazanos, Konstantinos Anastasopoulos has a deep appreciation for classic shapes. That respect for traditional forms is essential to fully developing the fundamental skills of shaping and design as well as understanding balance, flow, and line work. All of that is well-represented on this stout-bodied, saddle-stemmed Dublin, featuring a hearty, flaring bowl. Said bowl is shaped to maximize the briar's stunning cross-cut pattern, with mesmerizing whorls of birdseye dominating the flanks. Accenting this piece is a wenge band — an African hardwood native to the Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, used here to complement the stummel's warmth and seamlessly transition into the hand-cut cumberland mouthpiece.
