Misc. Estates: Vollmer & Nilsson Smooth Bent Apple (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Anders Nilsson and Martin Vollmer are a pair of Swedish half-brothers that collaborate equally on their handmade pipes, crafting distinctive, supple shapes as evidenced by this bent Apple. A low-lying rendition of the shape, this piece features a softly rounded bowl that rests comfortably in hand. The bowl is balanced in profile by an oval shank that flares gently coming out of the tight-knit transition before giving way to a saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite, making a subtle downturn for a relaxed smoking posture. The relatively compact proportions of the pipe make it ideal for travel and on-the-go smoking, coming in just over five inches in total length. The stunning, hair-like flame grain flows from the heel to the rim of the bowl, while whorls of birdseye dot the rim and top of the shank, all dressed in a handsome, dark chestnut smooth finish.
