A lean, gestural Dublin, this piece from HS Studio features a tall, forward-canted bowl that flares from its firm, narrow heel to its broad, fore-favoring rim. The slender ovoid shank glides from the low-set transition and flares ever-so-slightly into an abbreviated saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. The shank's flare toward the stem mirrors the bowl's upward expansion, creating a sense of visual harmony at either end of the stummel. Dressed in a crisp sandblast, the stummel displays a handsome mixture of birdseye and rippling grain.
