Misc. Estates: Julius Vesz Hand Made Smooth Bent Dublin (5) (30) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-8276

Born and raised in Hungary, Julius Vesz emigrated to Canada at the age of 23 to pursue a career as a mathematical draftsman, though, soon after decided to follow one of his childhood desires and became a pipe maker. This bent Dublin showcases his unique shaping style quite well, with a peculiar curvature about its shank and stem that reminds me immediately of the Hawkbill thanks to its aquiline stature. This is accentuated by the consistent taper through the shank and stem base that starts at the transition, with the saddle orientation of the stem keeping things quite sleek through the aft side of the pipe. A rounded, pronounced heel supports the bowl which flares gently to the rim, a slight sweep at the fore offering some extra curvature that keeps things comfortable in hand. This is a light pipe, and its length of under five inches keeps it handy, the unique arc of shank and stem lending it a comfortable smoking posture with potential for clenching. Dressing the briar here is a warm mahogany stain that unveils handsome birdseye on either flank of the bowl, with cross grain at the fore, top, and bottom.
