Misc. Estates: Konstantinos Anastasopoulos Smooth Eskimo (2513) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-8349

The Eskimo shape is a distinctive Rhodesian rendition designed originally by Tom Eltang and has since become iconic among artisan pipe making. A squat, angular design, this bent Eskimo from Konstantinos Anastasopoulos features a dramatically broad, domed rim adorned with a crisp, wrapping ridgeline that demarcates it from the lower, lifting heel. Marked by an extra-wide transition that's tucked beneath the rim's overhang, the shank gradually tapers to its end, where it's seamlessly topped by a short saddle stem. The line work here is fluid and impressive, as ridgelines expand from the transition, flanking the shank on either side, while the pipe's undercurve is more supple and sweeping. A compact piece, it's wearing a smooth, smoky walnut finish, beneath which can be seen an entire underside and shank topside smothered in stunning whorls of birdseye.
