Misc. Estates: Karl Harkam Smooth Freehand (Two Star) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-8394

A tall, Pickaxe-like Freehand with a few different novelties to its shaping, this piece from Austrian carver Karl Harkam is sculptural in its rendering. The bowl flares at its sloping rim, which also shows a distinctive protrusion out past the fore and upwards, coming to a teardrop styled point. The heel, too, tapers to a linear foot of sorts, extending back toward the transition. A gradually flaring shank mirrors the shaping of the rim as its face flares into a teardrop shape and it's all topped by a brindled vulcanite stem that's adorned with a stylish expansion disc at its base for further flourishing detail. This piece is dressed in a rich auburn contrast stain, highlighting gorgeous, tight-knit flame grain, with birdseye whorls seen along the rim.
