Misc. Estates: Peter Matzhold Smooth Apple (5D) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-8627

This smooth Apple by Austrian carver Peter Matzhold is a fine example of his unique style, combining geometric lines with supple curves to create an excellent smoking instrument. The bowl features a semi-paneled construction, with the aft side rendered with traditional Apple curves, while fore is characterized by a wide panel flanked by twin ridgelines, creating a flared and forward-urging bowl. A semi-square shank brings up the rear, maintaining contrasting ridges and curves at the top and bottom, respectively. A hand-cut vulcanite saddle stem completes the ensemble, featuring an attractive accent that contrasts nicely with the stummel's chestnut stain.
