Born in Hungary, carver Julius Vesz currently resides in Canada, fashioning pipes from his home workshop. His stylistic aesthetic ranges from classic shapes to those lent a playful flourish, with this particular bent Billiard more traditionally designed. The tall, stout bowl houses plenty of chamber depth and is rather Stack-like and features an extended heel, the lines of which run through the arcing shank and downturned saddle stem. Rather muscular, this piece is dressed in a dark rustication with a dark ruby-toned, smooth rim and trim band at the shank end lending contrast.
