Misc. Estates: Geiger Smooth Eskimo Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-008-8589

Love Geiger and Sara Mossberg are the Swedish pipe-making duo behind Geiger pipes. The pair collaborate together on every pipe and tend to produce some rather striking designs, as evidenced by this Eskimo. Originally designed by Tom Eltang, who himself was inspired by Sixten Ivarsson's Ukulele shape, the Eskimo is a distinctive take on the classic Rhodesian. Mossberg and Geiger pay homage to Eltang's original design here, all while making the shape their own.

This piece features a broad, stout bowl that flares upward from its lifted heel to its high-set waistline. Said waistline is marked by a crisp ridgeline that demarcates the rest of the bowl from the domed rim. From the transition, the flatted oval shank curls upward toward a saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite. The saddle stem's upper shoulders continue the implied trajectory of the shank, cresting into a wave before reducing to toward the bit. A contrast-stained smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights a mesmerizing display of birdseye and flame grain all along the bowl.
